We are happy that beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh (bm|t) decided to support the Start-Up Award 2017 as a Sponsor, again. The bm|t will have a seat in jury and provides shares of the price money. Thank you very much!
In 2016 we had 9 attendees from four countries participating in our annual contest for the Start-Up Award of the year. Participants were coming from Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Poland. The participating companies are doing business in the fileds of desktop laser sintering, eyewear and product design, software engineering, medical technique and sustainable filament production.
The jury with Carl Fruth, Dr. Jan Gernoth and Arno Held was awaiting an exciting pitch and our host Florian Horsch was really enthusiastic after the first presentations.
Before announcing the winners the jury was pointing out the very high quality of all participating companies. Even if they will not receive one of the prices, they will profit from the received feedback and a free of charge booth. Also the jury made a special mention for Mr. Beam and Thiele + Wagner. Mr. Beam from Munich is producing a 2D-Laser cutter and engraver and has recently launched a highly successful kickstarter campaign.
Thiele+Wagner use the advantages of 3D printing within their product design.
The third place went to Gravity Sketch, winning a price money of 1,000 Euro and a free of charge booth of 9sqm for Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D 2017. They created the most innovative and user friendly 3D modelling software known to the jury.
The second place went to Mcubus, earning them 2,000 Euro and a 9sqm booth at the show 2017. The start-up developed a coil which produces filament on demand from pallets right at the 3D printer.
The first place with a price money of 3,000 Euro and a 12sqm booth for the show in 2017 went to Sinterit. They convinced the jury with their vision of affordable laser sintering.
Congratulations to all winners and a huge thank you to all participants and applicants.
A very special thank you to our jury. Without them it would not be possible to have an Award with this quality.
